Perubahan tutupan lahan di suatu kawasan terus terjadi seiring meningkatnya pertambahan penduduk. Pemantauan perubahan tutupan lahan berperan penting dalam perencanaan dan pengawasan pemanfaatan sumber daya alam. Pemanfaatan teknologi penginderaan jauh seperti platform Google Earth Engine (GEE) menjadi salah satu cara yang cukup efisien dalam pemantauan perubahan tutupan lahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui klasifikasi tutupan lahan hutan di Register 38 Unit Pelaksana Teknis Dinas Kesatuan Pengelolaan Hutan (UPTD KPH) Gunung Balak, mengidentifikasi perubahan tutupan lahan di Register 38 UPTD KPH Gunung Balak, dan untuk mengetahui pengaruh perhutanan sosial dengan program rehabilitasi hutan dan lahan (RHL) terhadap perubahan tutupan lahan pada areal Register 38 UPTD KPH Gunung Balak. Penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan metode klasifikasi terbimbing (supervised classification) dengan algoritma random forest pada citra Landsat 8 untuk tahun 2016 dan 2018 serta citra Sentinel 2A untuk tahun 2020 dan 2022. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan Register 38 UPTD KPH Gunung Balak memiliki 5 kelas tutupan lahan yaitu badan air, lahan terbuka terbangun, pertanian lahan kering, kebun campuran dan sawah. Areal Register 38 UPTD KPH Gunung Balak masih didominasi oleh kelas pertanian lahan kering dari tahun 2016-2022, namun adanya kegiatan rehabilitasi hutan dan lahan (RHL) tahun 2020 mengakibatkan perubahan yang cukup terlihat pada kelas pertanian lahan kering menjadi kebun campuran pada tahun 2020-2022. Perhutanan sosial dengan program RHL sangat berpengaruh terhadap perubahan tutupan lahan dimana dengan adanya program RHL merubah penggunaan lahan di Register 38 UPTD KPH Gunung Balak yang awalnya ditanami tanaman semusim, kini telah ditanami dengan tanaman Multy Purpose Tree Species (MPTS). Monitoring land cover change plays an important role in planning and monitoring natural resource use. The use of remote sensing technology such as the Google Earth Engine (GEE) platform is one of the most efficient ways to monitor land cover change. This study aims to determine the classification of forest land cover in Register 38 of the Technical Implementation Unit (TIU) of the Gunung Balak Forest Management Unit (FMU) , identify land cover changes in Register 38 Gunung Balak, and determine the effect of social forestry with forest and land rehabilitation programs (FLR) on land cover changes in the area of Register 38 Gunung Balak. This study was conducted using a supervised classification method with random forest algorithm on Landsat 8 images for 2016 and 2018 and Sentinel 2A images for 2020 and 2022. The results of this study show that Register 38 Gunung Balak has 5 classes of land cover, namely water bodies, built-up open land, dryland agriculture, mixed plantation, and rice fields. The trend of land cover change is dominated by fixed dryland agriculture, but there is also a trend of land cover change that is going a lot further, namely dryland agriculture to mixed plantation as a result of the FLR program. Social forestry with the RHL program is very influential on land cover change where with the FLR program changing land use n Register 38 Gunung Balak which was originally planted with annuals, has now been planted with Multy Purpose Tree Species (MPTS) plants.
