Abstrak Ikan kerapu macan (Ephinephelus fuscoguttatus)merupakan salah satu budidaya perikanan yang berkembang cukup pesat di sekitar Teluk Lampung terutama di sekitar perairan pulau Maitam. Keramba Jaring Apung (KJA) yang terletak di sekitar perairan Maitam belum menghasilkan produksi ikan kerapu macan secara optimal. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat kesesuaian perairan pulau Maitam untuk budidaya ikan kerapu macan berdasarkan parameter fisika, kimia, dan biologi air laut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif analisis. Analisis kesesuaian perairan dilakukan dengan metode matching dan scoring. Hasil penelitian diperoleh kisaran nilai kecerahan (7 - 12 meter), suhu (29,7 – 31,1 0C), kecepatan arus (10 - 40 cm/detik), DO (5,34 – 7,12 mg/l), pH (8,03 - 8,11), dan salinitas (30 - 3 ppt) yang menunjukkan bahwa perairan masih dalam kondisi yang sesuai untuk budidaya kerapu macan. Sedangkan kisaran nilai kedalaman (16 - 29 meter), nitrat (0,032 - 0,457 mg/l), fosfat (0,040 - 0,192 mg/l), dan kelimpahan plankton (9400 - 47980 sel/liter) menunjukkan bahwa perairan masih baik untuk budidaya kerapu macan. Hasil analisis kesesuaian perairan dengan metode matching dan scoring menunjukkan bahwa nilai skor kesesuaian perairan untuk budidaya ikan kerapu macan dengan sistem keramba jaring apung pada lokasi pengambilan sampel 1, 3, 4 sebesar 91%,, hal ini menunjukkan bahwa perairan Pulau Maitam berada pada kelas sangat sesuai (S1) untuk budidaya kerapu macan. Abstract The tiger grouper (Ephinephelus fuscoguttatus) is one of aquaculture which developed rapidly around Lampung Bay, especially in the waters around the Maitam island. Floating Net Cage (KJA) which located in the waters of Maitam island has not optimal yet. The study was aimed to assess the waters suitability of Maitam island for tiger grouper aquaculture based on the parameters of physics, chemistry, and biology of sea water. This study used a descriptive method of analysis. Waters suitability analysis was conducted by matching and scoring methods. The results obtained by the range of brightness values (7-12 meters), temperature (29.7 to 31.1 0C), current speed (10-40 cm / sec), DO (5.34 to 7.12 mg / l), pH (8.03 to 8.11), and salinity (30-3 ppt) which shows that the waters are still in a condition suitable for the aquaculture of tiger grouper. While the range of depth values (16-29 meters), nitrate (0.032 to 0.457 mg / l), phosphate (0.040 to 0.192 mg / l), and the abundance of plankton (9400-47980 cells / liter) showed that the water is still good for tiger grouper aquaculture. The results of the waters suitability analysis using matching and scoring methods showed that the value of water for aquaculture suitability scores tiger grouper with floating net cage system at sampling sites 1, 3, 4 by 91%. It shows that the waters of Maitam island is in first class and very suitability (S1) for the aquaculture of tiger grouper.
