Cekungan Nias merupakan cekungan busur depan yang terletak di sebelah barat Sumatera. Adapun pada Lapangan ‘ZSD’ yang terletak di Cekungan Nias sebagai objek penelitian kali ini. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kebenaran keterdapatan reservoar hidrokarbon pada cekungan busur depan dan untuk mengidentifikasi karakteristik batuan yang potensial menjadi reservoar hidrokarbon. Data geokimia menjadi data pendukung mengenai keberadaan gas yang diidentifikasi sebagai gas methana karena kandungan gas methana sebagai komposisi utamanya. Identifikasi keberadaan zona reservoar dilakukan dengan interpretasi kualitatif data log dari kelima sumur, yaitu sumur AHL-1, AHP-1, AHS-1, AHT-1 dan AHUB-1. Kemudian dilakukan analisis parameter petrofisika berupa kandungan lempung (Vsh), porositas efektif, resistivitas (Rw), dan saturasi air (Sw) untuk mengetahui zona yang diindikasikan mengandung hidrokarbon serta jenis fluidanya. Dari hasil interpretasi yang dilakukan, diindikasikan bahwa keberadaan gas methana terdeteksi pada sumur AHP-1 dan AHS-1 pada litologi batugamping. Gas methana pada Lapangan ‘ZSD’ ini memiliki karakteristik nilai PHIE sumur AHP-1 35 % dan sumur AHS-1 34% dengan nilai Sw sumur AHP-1 24 % dan sumur AHS-1 41 %. Kata kunci: Gas Methana, Saturasi Air, Petrofisika The Nias Basin is a forearc basin located to the west of Sumatra. The 'ZSD' Field which is located in the Nias Basin is the object of research this time. The aim of this research is to determine whether there are hydrocarbon reservoirs in the forearc basin and to identify the characteristics of rocks that have the potential to become hydrocarbon reservoirs. Geochemical data provides supporting data regarding the presence of gas identified as methane gas because it contains methane gas as its main composition. Identification of the existence of the reservoir zone was carried out by qualitative interpretation of log data from the five wells, namely wells AHL-1, AHP- 1, AHS-1, AHT-1 and AHUB-1. Then an analysis of petrophysical parameters in the form of clay content (Vsh), effective porosity, resistivity (Rw) and water saturation (Sw) is carried out to determine the zone indicated to contain hydrocarbons and the type of fluid. From the results of the interpretation carried out, it was indicated that the presence of methane gas was detected in the AHP-1 and AHS-1 wells in the limestone lithology. Methane gas in the 'ZSD' Field has a PHIE value characteristic of the AHP-1 well of 35% and the AHS-1 well of 34% with a Sw value of the AHP- 1 well of 24% and the AHS-1 well of 41%.
