ABSTRAK Film merepresentasikan realita sosial di dalam masyarakat hingga konflik-konflik antar kelas. Film Hunger bertemakan konflik dalam dunia kuliner gourmet food dengan mengangkat latar belakang kehidupan para koki. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membahas representasi kelas sosial dengan mengkajinya menggunakan analisis semiotika untuk mendeskripsikan makna tanda dalam film. Pada penelitian ini mengambil beberapa adegan yang memperlihatkan bagaimana kelas sosial dijalani oleh tokoh utama bernama Aoy setelah menerima tawaran menjadi bagian dari tim Hunger. Penelitian ini mengambil pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, dengan menggunakan unit analisis berupa teks-teks serta gambar yang muncul sebagai bentuk dari representasi kelas sosial. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce sebagai alat untuk menganalisis ke dalam tiga bentuk, diantaranya sign/representament, object, dan interpretant. Peneliti menggunakan semiotika Peirce dikarenakan dapat memberikan pemahaman mendalam terkait makna pesan secara menyeluruh. Hasil dari penelitiannya menunjukkan bahwa temuan tanda yang terdalam dalam film Hunger menyiratkan pesan tersembunyi terkait pembagian kelas sosial dengan menciptakan perjuangan kelas, hingga menjadi salah satu konflik masyarakat. Kata Kunci: Representasi, Semiotika, Film, Kelas Sosial ABSTRACT The film represents social reality in society to conflicts between classes. The film Hunger has the theme of conflict in the world of gourmet food by raising the background of the lives of chefs. This study aims to discuss the representation of social class by studying it using semiotic analysis to describe the meaning of signs in films. In this study, several scenes show how the social class is lived by the main character named Aoy after receiving an offer to be part of the Hunger team. This study takes a descriptive qualitative approach, using analytical units in the form of texts and images that appear as a form of representation of social class. The method used in the study is Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotics as a tool to analyze into three forms, including sign/representation, object, and interpretant. Researchers use Peirce's semiotics because it can provide a deep understanding of the meaning of the message as a whole. The results of his research show that the deepest sign findings in the film Hunger imply a hidden message related to the division of social classes by creating class struggles, until it becomes one of the conflicts of society.
