This study examined the effectiveness of multimedia instruction in enhancing students' reading comprehension and motivation, the relationship between these two factors, its ability to accommodate diverse learning styles, and students' perceptions of multimedia implementation in reading instruction among 12th-grade students at MAN 1 Bandar Lampung. Employing a quasi-experimental design, the study included 75 participants. It involved an experimental group of 38 students who received multimedia-based instruction and a control group of 37 students who were taught using traditional print-based instruction over a period of five weeks. The reading comprehension outcomes, measured using SPSS pre-tests and post-tests for both groups, indicated significant improvements in the experimental group compared to those of the control group, reflecting on the potential benefits of multimedia instruction over traditional print-based instruction. Motivation levels in the experimental group, assessed using a Likert scale questionnaire before and after the treatments, shows a significant increase, underscoring the impact of engaging multimedia content. Additionally, a high positive correlation is found between students’ motivation and reading comprehension, highlighting the interplay between these two factors. The effectiveness of multimedia instruction varies across learning styles. It benefits auditory learners the most, while visual learners outperform kinesthetic learners in reading but have the lowest motivation. Kinesthetic learners, though weaker in reading, show higher motivation. This variation highlights the need for customized instructional designs. Furthermore, students' perceptions of the implementation of multimedia, gathered through a Likert scale questionnaire, revealed high satisfaction levels, especially in terms of engagement, ease of use, and accessibility. This research underscores the transformative potential of multimedia instruction in improving reading outcomes for high school students. Keywords: Multimedia Instruction, Reading Comprehension Improvement, Students’ Motivation
