Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji proses pembelajaran instrumen Kulcapi yang diterapkan oleh Djast Grup di Kota Medan. Kulcapi, sebagai alat musik tradisional suku Karo, memiliki peran penting dalam pelestarian budaya dan identitas lokal. Djast Grup menggunakan proses pembelajaran yang menggabungkan pendekatan melihat, melakukan, dan mendengarkan, yang memungkinkan peserta didik untuk belajar melalui observasi, praktik langsung, dan pendengaran terhadap teknik bermain Kulcapi. Meskipun prosesini efektif dalam mengembangkan keterampilan musikal, pembelajaran yang bersifat informal dan berbasis pengalaman menunjukkan kebutuhan untuk pengembangan kurikulum yang lebih sistematis dan terstruktur. Selain itu, penggunaan teknologi dalam pembelajaran dapat memperluas akses dan memperkenalkan Kulcapi kepada audiens yang lebih luas, terutama generasi muda. Penelitian ini juga mengemukakan pentingnya pelatihan bagi pengajar dan kerjasama dengan lembaga pendidikan formal untuk mendukung pelestarian dan keberlanjutan pengajaran musik tradisional Kulcapi. Kata Kunci: Proses Pembelajaran, Kulcapi, Djast Grup, Musik Tradisional, Pelestarian Budaya, Pendidikan This research examines the Kulcapi instrument learning process implemented by the Djast Group in Medan City. Kulcapi, as a traditional musikal instrument of the Karo tribe, has an important role in preserving local culture and identity. Djast Group uses a learning process that combines seeing, doing, and listening approaches, which allows students to learn through observation, direct practice, and listening to Kulcapi playing techniques. Although this process is effective in developing musikal skills, the informal and experience-based nature of learning indicates the need for the development of a more systematic and structured curriculum. In addition, the use of technology in learning can expand access and introduce Kulcapi to a wider audience, especially the younger generation. This research also highlights the importance of training for teachers and collaboration with formal educational institutions to support the preservation and sustainability of traditional Kulcapi musik teaching.
