Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)

Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah masih ditemukan beberapa peserta didik yang memiliki karakter kurang baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan gambaran budaya sekolah dan pelaksanaan pendidikan karakter di SD Negeri 8 Metro Barat serta peran budaya sekolah dalam pembentukan karakter peserta didik. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan pedoman wawancara, lembar observasi, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data dari mengumpulkan data, mereduksi data, penyajian data dan menarik kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peran budaya sekolah dalam pembentukan karakter peserta didik di SD Negeri 8 Metro Barat sudah berjalan dengan cukup baik, karena dalam budaya sekolah tersebut peserta didik telah melaksanakan kegiatan-kegiatan yang positif untuk membentuk karakter peserta didik. Melalui kegiatan pembiasaan budaya sekolah yang telah diterapkan secara terus menerus dapat membentuk nilai-nilai karakter dalam diri peserta didik, nilai karakter yang terbentuk melalui budaya sekolah adalah religius, disiplin, peduli lingkungan, bertanggung jawab, cinta tanah air, dan bersahabat/komunikatif. Kata Kunci: budaya sekolah, karakter, peserta didik The problem in this research was that there were still some students who had poor character. The research aimed to analyze and describe the picture of school culture and the implementation of character education at SD Negeri 8 Metro Barat as well as the role of school culture in forming the character of students. This type of research was qualitative with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques included interviews, observation, and documentation. The research instrument used interview guidelines, observation sheets, and documentation. Data analysis techniques included collecting data, reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. The results of the research showed that the role of school culture in forming the character of students at SD Negeri 8 Metro Barat had gone quite well because in the school culture, students had carried out positive activities to shape students' character. Through school culture habituation activities that had been implemented continuously, character values could be formed in students. The character values formed through school culture were religious, disciplined, caring for the environment, responsible, loving the country, and friendly/communicative.
