Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya jumlah koleksi bahan pustaka sebesar 46.278 eksemplar sehingga berdampak pada jumlah kunjungan ke perpustakaan tidak maksimal, kunjungan sebesar 54.047 kunjungan. Hal ini tentunya mempengaruhi kesan pengunjung terhadap kualitas pelayanan Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Daerah Kota Metro. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gaya kepemimpinan Kepala Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Daerah Kota Metro dalam pelayanan. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Daerah Kota Metro. Penelitian ini juga menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dari penelitian adalah observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori dari Bernard M. Bass (2009) yaitu inspirational motivational, intellectual stimulation, individualized consideration, dan idealized influence. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah Kepala Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Daerah Kota Metro menggunakan gaya kepemimpinan transformasional. Hal ini dapat dilihat melalui kepala dinas mentransformasikan visi menjandi nyata atau mengubah kemampuan yang dimiliki menjandi aktual. Selain itu, berdasarkan penelitian observasi gaya kepemimpinan transformasional kepala dinas memiliki pengaruh yang sangat signifikan dalam perubahan instansi pemerintah. Hal ini dapat dilihat melalui realisasi capaian kinerja Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Daerah Kota Metro. Kata Kunci: Gaya Kepemimpinan, Transformasional, Inspirational Motivational, Intellectual Stimulation, Individualized Consideration, dan Idealized Influence This research was motivated by the low number of library material collections of 46,278 copies, which resulted in the number of visits to the library not being optimal, with visits amounting to 54,047 visits.This certainly affects visitors' impressions of the quality of service of the Metro City Regional Library and Archives Service. The purpose of this research is to determine the leadership style of the Head of the Metro City Regional Library and Archives Service in service. This research was conducted at the Metro City Regional Library and Archives Service. This research also uses qualitative research methods. Data collection techniques from research are observation, interviews and documentation. This research uses theories from Bernard M. Bass (2009), namely inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, individualized consideration, and idealized influence. The results of this research are that the Head of the Metro City Regional Library and Archives Service uses a transformational leadership style. This can be seen through the head of the department transforming the vision into reality or changing the capabilities they have into actual ones. In addition, based on observational research, the transformational leadership style of service heads has a very significant influence on changes in government agencies. This can be seen through the realization of the performance achievements of the Metro City Regional Library and Archives Service.
