Latar Belakang: Angka insiden tertinggi Hernias Nukleus Pulposus (HNP) mencapai 5 dari 20 kasus nyeri punggung bawah per 100 orang dewasa setiap tahun. Perbandingan kasus HNP antara pria dan wanita adalah 2:1, menunjukkan bahwa pria lebih rentan mengalami HNP dibandingkan wanita. HNP paling sering terjadi pada rentang usia 30-50 tahun, dengan kemungkinan sekitar 95 persen bagi individu berusia antara 25-55 tahun. HNP umumnya terjadi pada level vertebra L4-L5 atau L5-S1, yang merupakan area yang paling banyak menerima tekanan dan beban. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara derajat nyeri menggunakan metode Visual Analog Scale (VAS) dengan derajat HNP lumbal di Rumah Sakit Umum Abdul Moeloek pada tahun 2023. Metode: Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah observasi analitik dengan pendekatan retrospektif selama satu tahun. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan menggunakan teknik simple random sampling, dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 135 responden.. Hasil: Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan, diperoleh nilai p sebesar 0,066 dari uji Spearman, dimana nilai p ini lebih besar dari 0,05. Kesimpulan: Dari penelitian yang telah dilakukan oleh peneliti, menunjukkan hasil bahwa tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara derajat nyeri dengan derajat HNP lumbal pada pasien di Rumah Sakit Abdul Moeloek Tahun 2023 Kata Kunci: HNP, derajat HNP derajat nyeri Background: The highest incidence rate of Hernias Nucleus Pulposus (HNP) reaches 5 out of 20 cases of low back pain per 100 adults every year. The ratio of HNP cases between men and women is 2:1, indicating that men are more susceptible to experiencing HNP than women. HNP most often occurs in the 30- 50 year age range, with a probability of around 95 percent for individuals aged 25- 55 years. HNP generally occurs at the L4-L5 or L5-S1 vertebral level, which is the area that receives the most pressure and load. This study aims to determine the relationship between the degree of pain using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) method and the degree of lumbar HNP at Abdul Moeloek General Hospital in 2023.. Methods: The research design used was analytical observation with a retrospective approach for one year. Sampling was carried out using a simple random sampling technique, with a sample size of 135 respondents. Results: Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, a p value of 0.066 was obtained from the Spearman test, where this p value is greater than 0.05. Conclusion: From research conducted by researchers, the results show that there is no significant relationship between the degree of pain and the degree of lumbar HNP in patients at Abdul Moeloek Hospital in 2023.
