Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)
Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui orientasi anggota Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat Daerah (DPRD) Kota Metro terpilih. Berdasarkan hasil rapat pleno KPU Kota Metro tanggal 12 Mei 2014 menetapkan 25 anggota DPRD (legislatif) Kota Metro terpilih. Dari 25 anggota legislatif tersebut sebanyak 10 anggota legislatif terpilih berasal dari calon incumbent dan 15 lainnya merupakan wajah baru. Tipe yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Peneliti dalam hal ini berusaha untuk mengetahui orientasi anggota Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat Daerah (DPRD) Kota Metro terpilih. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa orientasi anggota Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat Daerah (DPRD) Kota Metro terpilih untuk masa jabatan 2014-2019 baik anggota dewan incumbent maupun baru menjabat adalah untuk mengabdi kepada masyarakat Kota Metro dalam bentuk menyalurkan dan memperjuangkan aspirasi dan keinginan masyarakat kepada pemerintah daerah. Anggota dewan berorientasi demikian dikarenakan motivasi mereka untuk berprestasi, untuk berkuasa dan untuk berafiliasi sehingga tingkat kepercayaan masyarakat bertambah seiring dengan prestasi baik yang diperlihatkan dan yang diperoleh karena kedekatan dengan masyarakat sehingga dapat mengetahui permasalahan yang terjadi di masyarakat. Kata kunci: orientasi dan motivasi. The purpose of this research is to find the orientation of the elected member of Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat Daerah (DPRD) of Metro. Based on the result KPU Metro Plenary meeting in May 12th 2014, it sets that 25 (legislative) councilors has been elected. From those 25 legislative members about 10 are chosen from incumbent while the other 15 are the new faces. The type used in this research is descriptive qualitative research. Researcher in this case seeks to determine the orientation of the elected members of council (DPRD) Metro. The data collecting method used were interviews and documentation. The results showed that the orientation of the councilors (DPRD) of Metro 2014/2019 period was elected for a term of either member incumbent and new council office is to serve the Metro community in the form of channeling and aspiration and the desire of the community to the local government. The councilors thus due to their motivation to excel, to rule and to affiliated thus increase over the level of public trust with good performance shown and obtained because of proximity with the community so as to know the problems that occur in the community.
