Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)

This study investigates the implementation of YouTube tutorial videos as a learning medium to improve vocabulary mastery of the seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Ambarawa. A one-group pre-test and post-test design was employed within a quantitative research design. A total of 32 students from class VII.I participated in the study. The sample selected through purposive sampling. The research instruments included a pre-test and post-test vocabulary focusing on content words such as nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs. The results of the pre-test and post-test were analyzed using SPSS to determine the improvement of the students‟ vocabulary mastery. The findings revealed a significant improvement in students‟ vocabulary mastery with the Sig. (2-tailed) value <0.01, which is below 0.05, and the mean of pre-test scores increased from 52.71 to 83.96 in the post test, resulting in a mean difference of 31.25. All aspects of vocabulary which are nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs showed significant improvement, with nouns achieving the highest improvement (8.9 points with N-Gain 0.9) which fell within the high N-Gain classification. These findings show that the use of YouTube tutorial videos significantly improved vocabulary mastery. It can be concluded that YouTube tutorial videos is an effective medium for enhancing vocabulary mastery for junior high school students.
