Abstract

Bahasa Indonesia: Masalah pada penelitian ini adalah masih banyaknya peserta didik yang kesulitan dalam membaca puisi, terutama dalam hal penjiwaan, vokal dan gerak dengan baik di kelas IV di SD Negeri 11 Metro Pusat. Hal ini disebabkan oleh penggunaan metode pembelajaranyang belum tepat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Pengaruh Penggunaan Metode Drill Terhadap Keterampilan Membaca Puisi Peserta Didik Kelas IV SD Negeri 11 Metro Pusat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi experimental dengan nonequivalen control group design. Populasi penelitian berjumlah 66 orang peserta didik dan sampel ditentukan dengan teknik sampling jenuh. Pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini dengan tes membaca puisi, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Uji prasyarat analisis data menggunakan uji normalitas dan homogenitas. Uji hipotesis menggunakan uji regresi linier sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat pengaruh penggunaan metode drill terhadap keterampilan membaca puisi peserta didik kelas IV SD Negeri 11 Metro Pusat. Kata Kunci: membaca, metode drill, puisi, sekolah dasar Bahasa Inggris: The problem in this study was that there were still many students who have difficulty in reading poetry, especially in terms of poetry, vocals and movements well in class IV at SD Negeri 11 Metro Pusat. This is caused by the use of learning methods that are not appropriate. This study aimed to determine the effect of using the drill method on the poetry reading skills of fourth grade students of SD Negeri 11 Metro Pusat. The research method used quasi experimental with nonequivalent control group design. The study population amounted to 66 students and the sample was determined by saturated sampling technique. Data collection in this study with poetry reading test, observation, and documentation. Prerequisite test of data analysis using normality and homogeneity tests. Hypothesis testing used simple linear regression test. The results showed that there was an effect of used the drill method on the poetry reading skills of fourth grade students of SD Negeri 11 Metro Pusat.
