Abstract

Masalah pada penelitian ini yaitu rendahnya hasil belajar Matematika peserta didik di kelas IV SD Negeri 08 Metro Timur yang disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor yang mendukung, yaitu kurangnya variasi metode pembelajaran yang digunakan serta minim nya rasa percaya diri dari peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) pengaruh metode tutor sebaya terhadap hasil belajar matematika, (2) pengaruh metode proyek terhadap hasil belajar matematika, (3) perbedaan hasil belajar matematika peserta didik yang menggunakan Metode Tutor Sebaya dan Metode Proyek di kelas IV SD. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen menggunakan non-equivalent control group design. Populasi dan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas IV SD Negeri 08 Metro Timur dengan jumlah 57 peserta didik, sampel ditentukan dengan teknik sampling jenuh. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji t. Hasil penelitian adalah (1) terdapat pengaruh metode tutor sebaya terhadap hasil belajar matematika dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05, (2) terdapat pengaruh metode proyek terhadap hasil belajar matematika dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05, (3) terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar matematika peserta didik yang menggunakan Metode Tutor Sebaya dan Metode Proyek di kelas IV SD dengan nilai signifikansi 0,017 < 0,05. Penerapan metode tutor sebaya lebih unggul dalam meningkatkan kemampuan hasil belajar matematika peserta didik. Kata kunci: hasil belajar, proyek, tutor sebaya The problem in this study was the low mathematics learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 08 Metro Timur, which was caused by several contributing factors, namely the lack of variation in teaching methods used and the low self-confidence of the students. This study aimed to determine: (1) the effect of the peer tutoring method on mathematics learning outcomes, (2) the effect of the project method on mathematics learning outcomes, and (3) the difference in mathematics learning outcomes between students who used the peer tutoring method and those who used the project based method in fourth grade. The type of research used was quantitative with an experimental method using a non-equivalent control group design. The population and sample in this study consisted of all fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 08 Metro Timur, totaling 57 students. The sample was determined using a saturated sampling technique. The data analysis technique used was the t-test. The results of the study were: (1) there was an effect of the peer tutoring method on mathematics learning outcomes with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, (2) there was an effect of the project method on mathematics learning outcomes with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, (3) there was a difference in mathematics learning outcomes between students who used the Peer Tutoring Method and those who used the Project Method in the fourth grade with a significance value of 0.017 < 0.05. The implementation of the peer tutoring method was more effective in improving students’ mathematics learning outcomes. Keywords: learning outcomes, project, peer tutoring
