ABSTRAK Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model discovery learning terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Bandar Lampung, sebanyak 145 siswa yang terdistribusi kedalam 5 kelas, yaitu VII-A sampai VII-E. Sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 2 kelas, yaitu kelas VII-A sebanyak 29 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VII-B sebanyak 29 siswa sebagai kelas kontrol yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah pretest-posttest control group design, dengan instrumen tes berbentuk soal uraian. Data pada penelitian ini berupa data kuantitatif yang diperoleh melalui tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang mengikuti pebelajaran dengan model discovery learning lebih tinggi dibandingkan peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan dapat disimpulkan bahwa model discovery learning berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Kata kunci : discovery learning, komunikasi matematis, pengaruh This quasi-experimental research aims to determine the effect of the discovery learning model on students' mathematical communication abilities. The population of this study were all class VII students at SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Bandar Lampung, totaling 145 students distributed into 5 classes, namely VII-A to VII-E. The sample in this study was 2 classes, namely class VII-A with 29 students as the experimental class and class VII-B with 29 students as the control class, selected using a purposive sampling technique. The research design used was a pretest-posttest control group design, with a test instrument in the form of essay questions. The data in this research is quantitative data obtained through a mathematical communication ability test. The results of the research show that the increase in mathematical communication skills of students who take learning using the discovery learning model is higher than the increase in mathematical communication skills of students who take conventional learning. Based on the results of the research and discussion, it can be concluded that the discovery learning model influences students' mathematical communication skills.
