Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)

Kebutuhan CPO meningkat seiring naiknya permintaan pasar, sehingga produksi minyak sawit meningkat disertai peningkatan volume by product berupa palm oil mill effluent (POME), salah satu upaya mengelolanya dalam memenuhi kebutuhan unsur hara tanaman dan pembenah sifat fisik dan kimia tanah lahan kelapa sawit dengan memanfaatkan sebagai land application. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi sifat fisik dan kimia tanah, produksi serta karakter agronomi kelapa sawit akibat aplikasi POME. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei dan pengamatan observasi di lapangan serta analisis laboratoium. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan di lahan aplikasi dan non aplikasi POME serta pengambilan sampel karakter agronomi dilakukan secara purposive sampling sesuai dengan tujuan dan kriteria yang ditentukan. Data sifat fisik dan kimia tanah kedua lahan tersebut dibandingkan kemudian diinterprestasikan sesuai klasifikasi yang ditetapkan, serta data produksi, rata-rata bobot tandan dan karakter agronomi dianalisis uji independent sample t- test serta analisis deskriftif (rata - rata ± standar error). Hasil penelitian menunjukan aplikasi POME dapat memperbaiki beberapa sifat fisik dan kimia tanah di top soil lapisan atas (0-20 cm) diantaranya warna tanah lebih gelap, perakaran tanaman lebih banyak, ketahanan penetrasi rendah, kadar air, sangat terdispersi, kerapatan isi rendah, C-organik tinggi, dan produksi TBS serta tinggi batang lebih tinggi, namun berdampak negatif pada pH tanah. Keywords: POME, Sifat fisik dan kimia tanah, Produksi, Karakter agronomi The need for CPO has increased along with the increase in market demand, so that palm oil production has increased accompanied by an increase in the volume of by product in the form of palm oil mill effluent (POME), one of the efforts to manage it in meeting the needs of plant nutrients and improving the physical and chemical properties of oil palm land soil by utilizing it as a land application. This study aims to evaluate the physical and chemical properties of soil, production and agronomic characteristics of oil palm due to POME application. This study uses survey methods and observations in the field as well as laboratory analysis. Sampling was carried out on POME application and non-application land and agronomic character sampling was carried out by purposive sampling in accordance with the specified objectives and criteria. The data on the physical and chemical properties of the soil of the two lands were compared and then interpreted according to the established classification, as well as production data, average bunch weight and agronomic characteristics were analyzed by independent sample t-test and descriptive analysis (average ± standard error). The results of the study show that the application of POME can improve several physical and chemical properties of the soil in the top soil layer (0-20 cm) including darker soil color, more plant rooting, low penetration resistance, moisture content, highly dispersed, low content density, high C-organic, and FFB production and higher stem height, but negatively impacting soil pH.
