Penelitian ini membahas proses kreatif alih wahana penciptaan karya tari Tudung Bumei. Tujuan penelitian ini mendeskripsikan proses kreatif penciptaan karya tari Tudung Bumei yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa Pendidikan Tari Angkatan 2021. Studi ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif untuk memahami proses kreatif penciptaan dalam alih wahana properti adat menjadi karya tari dengan menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Sumber data primer meliputi penyimbang adat, koreografer, dan komposer, sedangkan sumber data sekunder berasal dari dokumentasi dan catatan proses kreatif. Keabsahan data diperoleh melalui teknik triangulasi sumber dengan membandingkan informasi dari berbagai narasumber. Analisis data dilakukan dengan tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Penelitian ini menggunakan konsep alih wahana oleh Sapardi Djoko Damono yang dikaitkan dengan konsep proses kreatif oleh Sumandiyo Hadi. Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan proses kreatif tari dengan menggunakan tiga aspek yaitu aspek esensi yang dikaitkan dengan tahap eksplorasi yang menghasilkan tema, ragam gerak, pemilihan penari, penentuan jadwal latihan. Pada aspek esensi koreografer melakukan beberapa pencarian ide baru terkait dengan unsur pendukung tari. Lalu aspek transformasi yang di kaitkan dengan tahap improvisasi menghasilkan ragam gerak dan tata busana. Pada aspek transformasi koreografer membentuk perubahan-perubahan yang baru terhadap ragam gerak dan tata busana. Aspek interpretasi yang dikaitkan dengan tahap komposisi menghasilkan ragam gerak, tata busana, tata rias, pola lantai, iringan musik dan properti tari. Pada aspek interpretasi koreografer menyusun seluruh unsur pendukung tari menjadi karya tari yang utuh. Penelitian ini menghasilkan suatu proses transformasi benda adat menjadi bentuk karya tari dengan tetap mempertahankan esensi yang terkandung dalam benda adat. Kata Kunci: Proses Kreatif, Alih Wahana, Tari Tudung Bumei This study discusses the creative process of transforming traditional cultural heritage into dance works. The objective of this research is to describe the creative process of creating Tudung Bumei dance works by students of the Dance Education Program, Class of 2021. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach to understand the creative process of transforming traditional cultural artifacts into dance works, employing data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation. Primary data sources include traditional cultural custodians, choreographers, and composers, while secondary data sources are derived from documentation and records of the creative process. Data validity was obtained through source triangulation by comparing information from various informants. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. This research employs Sapardi Djoko Damono's concept of transformation, which is linked to Sumandiyo Hadi's concept of the creative process. This study describes the creative process of dance using three aspects, namely the essence aspect, which is associated with the exploration stage that produces themes, movement variations, dancer selection, and determination of the rehearsal schedule. In the essence aspect, the choreographer conducts several searches for new ideas related to the supporting elements of dance. Then, the transformation aspect, which is associated with the improvisation stage, produces movement variations and costume design. In the transformation aspect, the choreographer creates new changes to movement variations and costume design. The interpretation aspect, which is associated with the composition stage, produces movement variations, costume design, makeup design, floor patterns, musical accompaniment, and dance props. In the interpretation aspect, the choreographer arranges all supporting elements of dance into a complete dance work. This research produces a process of transforming traditional objects into dance works while maintaining the essence contained in the traditional objects.
