Modul pembelajaran berbasis Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) pada materi siklus air bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir sistem peserta didik. Kemampuan berpikir sistem adalah salah satu dari delapan kompetensi kunci dalam ESD yang telah ditetapkan oleh UNESCO, namun pada penelitian dan pengembangan ini dibatasi indikator berpikir sistem hanya pada indikator pre- requirement (level I) dan basic (level II). Metode penelitian menggunakan research and development (R&D) yang mengacu pada desain pengembangan Plomp dengan melalui tiga tahapan yaitu preliminary research, design and develop prototype, dan assessment phase. Subjek penelitian melibatkan satu kelas kontrol dan satu kelas eksperimen, masing-masing berjumlah 33 peserta didik kelas IV di SDN 1 Sukaraja. Penelitian pendahuluan memerolah data bahwa peserta didik kelas IV masih memiliki nilai 35.86% dengan kategori rendah. Berdasarkan angket penelitian, pendidik dan peserta didik membutuhkan modul pembelajaran berbasis ESD untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir sistem peserta didik. Hasil penelitian dan pengembangan menunjukkan bahwa modul pembelajaran valid, dibuktikan nilai rata-rata indeks Aiken validasi ahli (materi, media, dan bahasa) sebesar 0.87% dengan interpretasi “sangat valid”. Modul pembelajaran berbasis ESD praktis, dibuktikan dengan hasil uji praktikalitas pendidik dan peserta didik, masing-masing 95.83% dan 96.49% dengan interpretasi “sangat praktis”. Tingkat keefektifan modul pembelajaran berbasis ESD menurut nilai rata-rata N-gain sebesar 0.71 interpretasi “tinggi”, dan hasil uji effect size sebesar 2.85 termasuk kategori “besar”. Modul pembelajaran memiliki efektivitas tinggi dan pengaruh yang besar untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir sistem peserta didik kelas IV. This ability is one of the eight key competencies in ESD that have been determined by UNESCO; however, in this research and development, it is limited to system thinking indicators only at pre-requirement (level I) and basic (level II) indicators. The research method employed was research and development (R&D), which, according to Plomp's development design, involves three stages: preliminary research, design and development of a prototype, and the assessment phase. The study's subjects comprised one control class and one experimental class, each with 33 fourth grade students at SDN 1 Sukaraja. Preliminary research revealed that fourth grade students exhibited a score of 35.86%, indicating a low performance category. The research questionnaire revealed that educators and students expressed a need for an ESD- based learning module to enhance students' system thinking skills.The results of the research and development process demonstrated the validity of the learning module, as evidenced by the average value of the Aiken index of expert validation (material, media, and language) of 0.87%, interpreted as "very valid." The practicality of the ESD-based learning module is substantiated by the findings of the practicality test conducted on educators and students, with 95.83% and 96.49%, respectively, classifying it as "very practical”. The effectiveness of the ESD-based learning module is evidenced by its average N-gain value of 0.71, which is interpreted as "high," and its effect size test results of 2.85, classified as "large." These findings substantiate the module's substantial efficacy and its marked impact on enhancing the system thinking capacity of fourth grade students.
