Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada rendahnya hasil belajar siswa akibatnya kurangnya variasi dalam model pembelajaran yang digunakan oleh guru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Make a Match berbantuan media Explosion Box teradap hasil belajar kognitif siswa dalam Mata Pelajaran Sejarah Kelas XI SMAN 12 Kabupaten Tangerang Banten tahun pelajaran 2024/2025. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode quasi eksperimen dan desain pretest posttest non-equivalent control group, sampel penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas yaitu kelas ekperimen (XI 10) dan kelas kontrol (XI 8). Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes pilihan ganda yang mengukur hasil belajar kognitif siswa. Data dianalisis melalui uji normalitas, homogenitas, dan uji t test menggunakan SPSS versi 23. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan pada hasil belajar kognitif siswa di kelas eksperimen dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol. Hal ini dibuktikan melalui perhitungan yang dihasilkan dari nilai rata-rata setelah perlakuan dan uji statistik, di mana nilai rata-rata posttest kelompok kontrol sebesar 60,63, sedangkan nilai rata-rata posttest dari kelompok eksperimen lebih besar, yaitu 70,95. Hasil statistik uji Independent Samples t-Test menunjukkan bahwa nilai t hitung sebesar 3,183 dengan derajat kebebasan (df) 78,823 dan nilai signifikansi (Sig. 2-tailed) sebesar 0,003, yang berarti terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Hal ini memperkuat bahwa hipotesis alternatif (H1) dalam penelitian ini diterima, yakni terdapat pengaruh dari penggunaan model Make a Match berbantuan media Explosion Box terhadap hasil belajar kognitif siswa. The background of this research is based on the low student learning outcomes, which are caused by a lack of variation in the learning models used by teachers. This study employs a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method and a pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group design. The research sample consists of two classes, namely the experimental class (XI 10) and the control class (XI 8). The instrument used was a multiple-choice test that measured students' cognitive learning outcomes. The data were analyzed through normality tests, homogeneity tests, and a t-test using SPSS version 23.This research aims to determine the effect of the Make a Match learning model assisted by Explosion Box media on students' cognitive learning outcomes in the History subject for Grade XI students at SMAN 12 Tangerang Regency, Banten, in the 2024/2025 academic year. The results of the study show an improvement in the cognitive learning outcomes of students in the experimental class compared to the control class. This is evidenced by the calculations based on the average scores after the treatment and statistical tests, where the posttest average score of the control group was 60.63, while the average posttest score of the experimental group was higher at 70.95. The results of the Independent Samples t-Test showed a t-count value of 3.183 with a degree of freedom (df) of 78.823 and a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.003, indicating a significant difference between the experimental and control groups. This strengthens the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (H1) in this study, namely that there is an effect of using the Make a Match model assisted by Explosion Box media on students' cognitive learning outcomes.
