Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model guided discovery learning terhadap kemampuan literasi matematis siswa. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 3 Jati Agung tahun pelajaran 2024/2025 sebanyak 285 siswa yang terdistribusi ke dalam 10 kelas. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII A sebanyak 30 siswa dan VIII B sebanyak 29 siswa yang dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling. Pada penelitian desain yang digunakan yaitu pretest-posttest control group design dengan instrumen tes berbentuk soal uraian Berdasarkan hasil uji Mann-Whitney U diperoleh bahwa median data peningkatan skor kemampuan literasi matematis siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran guided discovery learning lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD. Dengan demikian, pembelajaran guided discovery learning berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan literasi matematis siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 3 Jati Agung. Kata kunci: guided discovery learning, kemampuan literasi matematis, pengaruh ABSTRACK This study aims to determine the effect of the guided discovery learning model on students' mathematical literacy skills. The population in this study were all students of class VIII of SMP Negeri 3 Jati Agung in the 2024/2025 academic year, totaling 285 students distributed into 10 classes. The sample in this study was 30 students of class VIII A and 29 students of VIII B who were selected using the cluster random sampling technique. In this study, the design used was a pretest-posttest control group design with a test instrument in the form of essay questions. Based on the results of the Mann-Whitney U test, it was obtained that the median data on the increase in the mathematical literacy scores of students who participated in guided discovery learning was higher than students who participated in STAD cooperative learning. Thus, guided discovery learning has an effect on the mathematical literacy skills of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 3 Jati Agung.
