Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)
The criminal act of violent theft involving teenagers is one of the crimes or juvenile delinquency that occurs on the streets that has a serious impact on the security and order of the community, in this case juvenile delinquency occurs due to the dissatisfaction of a person or individual in the achievement of his life or to meet the needs of his life. This phenomenon occurs in the Lampung region, so it requires more comprehensive prevention efforts from law enforcement officers, especially the Lampung Regional Police. The problem in this study is how the police efforts in preventing violent theft by teenagers and what are the inhibiting factors in preventing violent theft by teenagers. The research method used is a normative legal approach, namely analyzing policies related to the prevention of violent theft by teenagers, where data collection is carried out by literature studies and field studies. Meanwhile, the empirical legal approach involves interviews with sources consisting of members of the Lampung Regional Police, the Head of the Child Client Guidance Section of the Class II Correctional Center of Bandar Lampung and Lecturers in the Criminal Law Section of the Faculty of Law, Lampung University. The data obtained is then analyzed in a qualitative description. Based on the results of research and discussion, the prevention efforts carried out by the Lampung Regional Police include preventive activities in the form of extension, socialization, coaching, community empowerment development, routine patrols, increased supervision of vulnerable areas, installing banners on the streets, delivery on social media, and cross-sector cooperation. Meanwhile, repressive efforts as the final step in the form of law enforcement actions include several ways, namely, arrest, investigation, prosecution, conviction Child-based rehabilitation and law enforcement. The hindering factors in the implementation of the effort consist of punishments that do not provide a deterrent effect, limited human resources and limited coordination between agencies, lack of legal awareness,inadequate facilities and infrastructure, lack of strenghthening of moral ethical values, and culture in the midst of the community through character education both in the family environment, school and community. The advice in this study is to need to improve and optimize deep coordination because, prevention efforts are the main goal that is more important than eradication. It is better to support facilities and infrastructure from local governments to support prevention efforts in cases of violent theft and strengthen the role of family and society in preventing the involvement of teenagers in committing violent theft crimes, as well as encouraging active community participation through environmental security activities such as night patrols.
