ABSTRAK HUBUNGAN ANTARA PENGGUNAAN SMARTPHONE DENGAN KETERGANTUNGAN BERINTERAKSI DI DUNIA MAYA (Studi Pada Mahasiswa Pengguna Smartphone Jurusan Sosiologi Angkatan Tahun 2011-2014 FISIP Universitas Lampung) Oleh: MEZISKO DWI PUTRA Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan hubungan antara penggunaan smartphone dengan ketergantungan berinteraksi di dunia maya menurut jenis kelamin. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif. Teknik Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui kuisioner dan dengan menggunakan analisis chi-square. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, dari segi frekuensi penggunaan smartphone, perempuan cenderung lebih sering dalam mengecek smartphonenya. Didapat bahwa 28,6% perempuan mengecek smartphone mereka lebih dari 10 kali dalam satu hari. Sedangkan untuk laki-laki hanya 15,9%. Kemudian dari segi durasi penggunaan smartphone dalam mengakses dunia maya. Perempuan juga lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan laki-laki. Terbukti dari hasil penelitian terdapat 28,5% perempuan yang masuk kategori “tinggi” dalam mengakses dunia maya sedangkan laki-laki hanya 4,6%. Responden yang masuk dalam kategori tinggi. Selanjutnya untuk perbedaan tingkat ketegantungan berinteraksi di dunia maya antara laki-laki dan perempuan hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa dalam kategori “tinggi” untuk perempuan yaitu sebanyak 30,3% laki-laki 12,6%. Kemudian melalui uji Chi-Square, diperoleh nilai χ hitung sebesar 47,329 dengan nilai signifikansi (Asymp. Sig. (2-sided)) sebesar 0,000. Berdasarkan hasil yang telah diperoleh, terlihat bahwa nilai χ hitung (47,329) > χ table (7,815) serta nilai signifikansi (0.000) < α (0,05). Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada perbedaan hubungan antara penggunaan smartphone dengan ketergantungan berinteraksi di dunia maya menurut jenis kelamin.
