Abstract

Spatial panel regression is an analytical method that combines the characteristics of cross-section and time series data while accounting for spatial effects or interregional dependencies. One of the commonly used spatial panel regression models is the spatial autoregressive model, which can be estimated using the common effect, fixed effect, or random effect approach, depending on the assumptions regarding region specific effects. This study aims to determine the best model and to identify the factors influencing the human development index in Lampung Province during the period 2020–2024 using spatial panel regression. Based on the analysis and model selection results, the best model obtained is the spatial autoregressive random effect model. The resulting model equation is given as follows
