Penelitian ini membahas masalah tentang rendahnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika peserta didik kelas IV SD Negeri 4 Metro Utara. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) berbantuan media realia terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika dan perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif jenis penelitian eksperimen semu (quasi experiment) dengan desain nonequivalent control group. Populasi penelitian ini seluruh peserta didik kelas IV SD Negeri 4 Metro Utara berjumlah 50 peserta didik. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 50 peserta didik yang ditentukan menggunakan sampling jenuh. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes dan non-tes, sementara uji hipotesis menggunakan uji regresi linear sederhana dan uji t. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) berbantuan media realia sebesar 79,3% terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis peserta didik kelas IV SD Negeri 4 Metro Utara Tahun Pelajaran 2025/2026 dan terdapat perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis antara peserta didik yang menggunakan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) berbantuan media realia dengan peserta didik yang menggunakan pendekatan saintifik di kelas IV SD Negeri 4 Metro Utara Tahun Pelajaran 2025/2026. Kata Kunci: matematika, pemecahan masalah, realistic mathematics education This study addresses the problem of low mathematical problem-solving abilities among fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 4 Metro Utara. The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach, assisted by realia media, on students’ mathematical problem-solving abilities, as well as to examine the differences in problem-solving abilities between the experimental and control classes. The research method employed is quantitative, using a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group. The population consists of all fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 4 Metro Utara, totaling 50 students. The research sample, consisting of 50 students, was selected through saturated sampling. Data were collected through tests and non-test instruments, while hypothesis testing was conducted using simple linear regression and an independent t-test.. The results show that the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach, assisted by realia media, has a 79.3% influence on the mathematical problem-solving abilities of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 4 Metro Utara in the 2025/2026 academic year. Additionally, there are differences in mathematical problem-solving abilities between students who used the RME approach assisted by realia media and those who used the scientific approach in the fourth grade at SD Negeri 4 Metro Utara in the 2025/2026 academic year.
