Abstract
The use of synthetic chemical larvicides causes larvae resistance to larvicides, besides that chemical larvicides also have a bad impact on the environment because they can cause pollution. The use of biolarvicides can be used as an alternative in controlling Aedes aegypti mosquito larvae. Biolarvicides include larval controls derived from plant materials, such as pineapple bark which have ingredients that can kill mosquito larvae. This study aims to determine the content of bioactive compounds of pineapple peel extract (Ananas comosus (L.) Merr), to determine the activity of the extract in killing Ae. aegypti larvae, to determine the optimal effectiveness of extracts to kill larvae by analysis of LC50 and LT50 probites, and to determine the activity of extracts to changes in the morphology of Ae. aegypti larvae. The method used was experimental with a Complete Random Design (RAL) and the experiment was carried out with concentrations of 2%, 4%, 6%, and 8% with positive control using abate and negative control using well water, which was carried out 3 times. Observations were made at the 6th, 12th, 24th, 48th, and 72nd hours by calculating the mortality of mosquito larvae. The data was analyzed using ANOVA and followed by the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test, and probit analysis was carried out to determine LC₅₀ and LT₅₀. The results obtained from this study were obtained with the most effective concentration in killing larvae, namely a concentration of 6% with an LC₅₀ value of 0.96% at 72 hours of observation and an LT₅₀ value of 1.03 hours at a concentration of 8%. Keywords: mosquito larvae, Aedes aegypti, biolarvicide, pineapple peel.
