Penelitian dilakukan pada Bulan Januari sampai Maret di Laboratorium Basah, Jurusan Budidaya Perairan, Universitas Lampung. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah rancangan faktorial dengan dua faktor yaitu konsentrasi minyak cengkeh dan lama transportasi serta menggunakan tiga ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan waktu pulih sadar benih nila merah terbaik sebesar 19.87 menit pada konsentrasi minyak cengkeh 0.0159 ml/l dan lama transportasi 6 jam. Survival rate (SR) benih nila merah terbaik mencapai 100% pada konsentrasi minyak cengkeh 0.0159 ml/l dan lama transportasi 2 jam. Kata kunci: Benih nila merah, minyak cengkeh, sistem kering. Abstract The research of clove oil utilization as an anesthetic was used to determine the optimum concentration and duration of transportation to improve the survival rate of red tilapia juvenile. The research was conducted in Aquaculture Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung during January to March 2012. Complete randomized factorial design was used in this experiment which consist of two factors: variation of clove oil and the duration of transport and each treatment was repeated tree times. The observation results showed that the highest recovery time of red tilapia juvenile 19.87 minutes was accured in 0.0159 ml/l clove oil consentration on the six hours of duration transportation. The highest survival rate (SR) of red tilapia juvenile (100 %) was occured in 0.0159 ml/l clove oil consentration on the two hours of duration transportation.
