Pertumbuhan angkatan kerja wanita mengalami peningkatan sejak 1980. Hal ini
mengakibatkan, mereka tidak memiliki waktu untuk menyiapkan makan di rumah
tangga, sementara itu, warung makan menjual makanan siang untuk karyawan di
area kantor mengalami pertumbuhan pesat. Kondisi ini mendorong banyak
karyawan memilih makan siang di luar rumah menjadi pertanyaan adalah berapa
besar pengeluaran para karyawan untuk makan siang di luar dan apakah faktorfaktor
yang mempengaruhinya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjawab
pertanyaan tersebut. Lokasi penelitian ditetapkan secara sengaja di Universitas
Lampung. Terdapat 94 sampel yang merupakan karyawan Universitas Lampung
yang diambil dengan cara acak perfakultas. Data dianalisis menggunakan regresi
berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata pengeluaran karyawan
untuk makan siang di luar sebesar Rp95.500/bulan/orang. Pendapatan karyawan
berpengaruh terhadap pengeluaran makan siang di luar rumah. Faktor lain yang
juga berpengaruh terhadap pengeluaran makan siang di luar rumah adalah jumlah
anggota rumah tangga.

ABSTRAK INGGRIS

The growth of woman employees has been increasing since 1980. Consequently,
they do not have time for preparing food in their households. Mean while, food
stalls selling lunch for employees in office areas have been growing rapidly.
These conditions causes many employees easier to find out the plans to eat lunch
outside. The research questions are how much money that employees spent for
buying lunch outside and what factors affect it. Other this study aims to answer
these questions. There are 94 sampels who are employees of the university of
lampung. The data are analyzed by the multiple regression. One of the result
was that the average expenditure of eating lunch outside was
Rp95,500/month/person. This result showed factors that influenced on the
expenditure of lunch outside were empoyees income and the number of household
members.
