But in fact, many students face difficulties to master listening skill because the teaching media used by the teacher is not effective. Video movie is one of media that can motivate the students’ learning activity, especially in listening subject. Therefore the objectives of this research are; (1) To find out whether there is any significant increase of student’s listening comprehension achievement after being taught through video movie and (2) To investigate the process of teaching listening comprehension by using video movie This research applied one group pretest – posttest design and the subject of the research were class X2 of odd semester in SMAN 1 Natar Lampung Selatan 2012/2013. Objective listening comprehension test was used as the instrument of the research and the data were analyzed by using repeated measure t- test. The results of the research show that there is a significant increase from pre-test to post-test after being taught through video movie. The average score of pre-test is 54.83 and the post-test is 72.17. By comparing the score of pre-test and post-test, it can be found that the gain is 17.33. The result of t-test computation shows that t-value is higher than t-table that is (13.338 > 2.030). This proves that the treatments given by the researcher had a positive effect on the students’ achievement. In addition the teaching learning process using video movie indicates that the students’ involvement and students’ activeness has been improved in the process of teaching learning listening Based on the data, it can be concluded that the implementation of video movie in the classroom increase students’ listening comprehension achievement. Therefore, video movie is recommended as a media to be used by English teachers to improve their students’ listening ability.
