Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan usaha ternak ayam probiotik KPA Berkat Usaha Bersama yang dilihat dari aspek finansial, teknis, pemasaran, dan sosial, serta untuk menganalisis tingkat sensitivitas terhadap kelayakan usaha ternak ayam probiotik..  Penelitian dilaksanakan secara studi kasus pada KPA Berkat Usaha Bersama di Kelurahan Yosomulyo 21, Kecamatan Metro Pusat, Kota Metro yang dipilih secara sengaja (purposive) sebagai lokasi penelitian. Pengambilan data penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Juni hingga Juli 2015.  Responden dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 23 orang peternak dan 1 orang bukan peternak (Ketua KPA Berkat Usaha Bersama).  Pada analisis aspek finansial menggunakan kriteria investasi NPV, Net B/C Ratio, Gross B/C Ratio, IRR, Payback Periode, ROI pada tingkat suku bunga 17%, sedangkan untuk analisis aspek teknis, pemasaran, dan sosial menggunakan analisis deskriptif, dan pada analisis sensitivitas menggunakan perhitungan laju kepekaan dengan kenaikan harga DOC 6%, harga pakan 6%, dan penurunan produksi 5%.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa usaha ternak ayam probiotik dinyatakan layak dan menguntungkan secara finansial, teknis, pemasaran, dan sosial dengan perolehan nilai NPV Rp53.613.075,93 per 1.000 ekor.  Selain itu diperoleh nilai Net B/C Ratio, Gross B/C Ratio, IRR, Payback Period, dan ROI adalah 1,41, 1,02, 24 persen, 1,04 tahun dan 48 persen secara berturut-turut.  Usaha ternak ayam probiotik akan tetap layak walaupun jika terjadi kenaikan harga DOC 6 persen.  Namun, apabila terjadi penurunan jumlah produksi 5 persen dan kenaikan harga pakan 6 persen, maka kelayakan usaha ternak ayam probiotik akan berpengaruh (sensitif) terhadap perubahan.  Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa usaha ternak ayam probiotik adalah layak dan menguntungkan.

ABSTRACT


This research aim at determaining the financial, technical, marketting, and social feasibility of probiotic chicken farming, and analyzing the sensitivity of probiotic chicken farming.  This research was using case study at KPA Berkat Usaha Bersama at Village of Yosomulyo 21, District of Metro Center, Metro City which was selected purposively as the research location.  The data was taken from June to July 2015.  The sample size was 23 chicken farmers and 1 chairman of KPA Berkat Usaha Bersama.  The analysis of financial aspect in this study used investment criteria, such as; NPV, Net B/C Ratio, Gross B/C Ratio, IRR, Payback Period, ROI with 17 percent interest rate, while the technical, marketting, and social aspects used the descriptive analytical.  The sensitivity analysis used calculation of rate sensitivity when the price increase in DOC by 6 percent, feed by 6 percent, and decrease in production by 5 percent.  Research result showed that the probiotic chicken farming was feasible and profitable in financial, technical marketting, and social aspect which was showed by value of NPV was Rp53.613.075,93 per 1.000 chicken.  In addition Net B/C Ratio, Gross B/C Ratio, IRR, Payback Period, and ROI were 1,41, 1,02, 24 percent, 1,04 years, and 48 percent respectively.  Therefore, investmen on probiotic chicken farming is feasible, even if the price of DOC increase by 6 percent.  However, if the production decrease by 5 percent and the price of feed increase by 6 percent, probiotic chicken farming is no longer feasible.  In conclution the probiotic chicken farming was feasible and profitable.
