Among those factors, cognitive style of the students had a big deal in different of students’ reading comprehension achievement. The research focused on left-brain and right-brain dominance toward reading comprehension achievement as a cognitive style aspect of the students. Many teachers did not pay attention to this cognitive style aspect. Related to the statements above, the objective of the research was to find out whether there was a significant difference of students’ reading comprehension between left-brain and right-brain dominated students. This research used ex post facto design. The population of this research was the second year students of SMAN 2 Bandar Lampung. The sample of this research was XI IPA1 and was selected by using random sampling through lottery. In collecting the data, the researcher administered the questionnaire and reading comprehension test. The data were analyzed by using independent group t-test, in which the significance was determined by p<0.05. The significant two tailed of the reading score was 0.001, it means that 0.001<0.05. Therefore, it can be concluded that there was a significant difference of reading comprehension achievement between left-brain dominated and right-brained dominated students. In other words, the alternative hypothesis was accepted and null hypothesis was rejected.
