WRITING SKILL IN PROCEDURE TEXT THROUGH SEQUENCE OF PICTURES AT THE FIRST YEAR OF SMA 15 BANDAR LAMPUNG %X This research deals with improving student?s ability in writing procedure text through sequence of pictures at the first year of SMA N 15 Bandar Lampung. The objective of this research was to investigate whether sequence of pictures in procedure text can improve students? ability at the first grade of SMA N 15 Bandar Lampung. The population of this research was the first year students of SMA N 15 Bandar Lampung. There were six classes and X5 was chosen as the sample of this research that consisted of 37 students. This research used one group pre ? post test design. The treatment was conducted one time. It means that the result was found by comparing the differences score between pre ? test and post ? test. The difference of those test were calculated by using Sample Paired t ? test. The result showed that the mean of pre ? test was 42.03 and the mean of post ? test was 68.11. It means that the increase of students? score was 26.08. Besides, the significance level was 0.00 and it was significant where 0.00 < 0.05. Thus, for the hypothesis, the null hypothesis was rejected and the research hypothesis was accepted. It means that there is increase of students? procedure text writing ability at the first year senior high school students after being taught by using sequence of pictures. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that applying sequence of pictures was successful in increasing student?s writing ability. It happened because sequence of pictures can guide the students in composing the procedure text well. For the future researchers who will conduct the same research, it is recommended to conduct study using sequence of pictures with some changes in term of text types and student?s level. %L eprints17304
