description: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran orangtua dalam memberikan  pengaruhnya kepada anak untuk memilih jurusan di Universitas Lampung.  Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian kualitatif dengan  menggunakan studi kasus sedangkan teknik pengumpulan data digunakan melalui  wawancara mendalam (Indepth Interview), observasi dan studi pustaka.  Informan dalam penelitian ini adalah 3 orang mahasiswa, dan 2 orangtua  mahasiswa. Berdasarkan dari hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa peran orangtua  dalam mempengaruhi anak memilih jurusan di Universitas Lampung sangat  berpengaruh hal ini terlihat dengan pilihan jurusan yang dipilih oleh 3 mahasiswa  tersebut pada dasarnya merupakan pilihan orangtua mereka. Pilihan jurusan yang  dianjurkan orangtua pada dasarnya bertujuan baik yaitu untuk masa depan sang  anak karena orangtua menganggap pilihan jurusan yang dianjurkan untuk  kebaikan anak itu sendiri.  Kata Kunci : Peran Orangtua dan Pemilihan Jurusan  ABSTRAK  ROLE OF PARENTS IN CHILDREN CHOOSE MAJORING  IN THE UNIVERSITY LAMPUNG  (Studies in Faculty of Social and Political Sciences)  By  ANDESTIA TAISA  This study aims to determine the role of parents in giving effect to the child to  choose a majoring at the University of Lampung. The research method used was  qualitative research methods using case study data collecting technique used  through in-depth interviews (indepth interviews), observation and literature study.  Informants in this study were 3 students, and 2 parents of students. Based from  research result shows that the role of parents in influencing children to choose a  majoring at the University of Lampung very influential this is seen with a choice  of majors selected by the 3 students were basically a choice of their parents. The  recommended choice majors basically well-intentioned parents are for the future  of the child because the parents assume the recommended choice majors for the  good of the children themselves.
