This research is a quantitative research. The research design is one group pretest posttest design. This research was conducted at MTS Nurul Ulum Kotagajah, Lampung Tengah. The researcher used one class as experimental class of the five classes of third grade that was class IXA. The class consisted of 40 students. The data were collected by using a test of multiple choice items. The test was used in order to know students’ listening comprehension of narrative text. The data were analyzed by using Repeated Measures T-Test. The result of the score of students’ listening comprehension of narrative text before and after the treatment implies that plot can increase the students’ listening comprehension of narrative text. The computation of the data shows that the total score of the students’ listening comprehension of narrative text before the treatment is 2089.32 with the mean score 52.2330 and the total score of students’ listening comprehension of narrative text after the treatment is 2830.99 with the mean score 70.7748. It means that students’ listening comprehension of narrative text increases after they are taught through plot. The researcher concludes that there is an increase of students’ listening comprehension of narrative text after they have been taught through plot. At the level of significance 0.05, it is attained that t-ratio is higher than t-table, that is 14.471 > 2.021 with the 2 tail significance p < 0.05 (p = .000). It can be said that plot increases the students’ listening comprehension of narrative text significantly. So, it is recommended that the teacher should focus students’ attention on the chronology as well as the plot of the story in order to improve students’ listening comprehension of narrative text. date: 2010-01-22 date_type: published publication: digital lebrray refereed: TRUE citation: 0543042021, KARTIKA SARI (2010) INCREASING STUDENTS’ LISTENING COMPREHENSION OF NARRATIVE TEXT THROUGH PLOT AT GRADE IX OF MTS NURUL ULUM KOTAGAJAH. digital lebrray. document_url: http://digilib.unila.ac.id/19170/1/ABSTRACT.pdf document_url: http://digilib.unila.ac.id/19170/2/kesimpulan.pdf document_url: http://digilib.unila.ac.id/19170/3/pendahuluan.pdf
