        abstract = {This research purposes to find out and analyze responses of Ujung Menteng village
people to the Jakarta?s Regional Regulation (RR) Number 75 in 2005 about non smoking
area. The research uses descriptive method with using quantitative data as main data. The
research uses questionnaire, observation, and documentation to collect data. Respondents
are 99 people of Ujung Menteng village.
The results show that the people?s responses in Ujung Menteng village about the conduct
of Regional Regulation (RR) Number 75 in 2005 about non smoking area are less than
good. The people give negative responses and less enthusiasm in participating to keep
their environment healthy and to obey the regulation; where they were skeptical and
pragmatic. This is proven with the high rates of smoke consumption by the people in
Ujung Menteng village, and they have less awareness to create healthy life without
smoking and keeping their environment or families free from smoke. People in Ujung
Menteng village also have less knowledge about the regulation of non smoking area,
some of them even do not know about the regulation that had established certain non
smoking areas and sanctions of breaking the regulation.
