Perikanan . Angling description: Jintan hitam (Nigella sativa) telah diketahui bermanfaat sebagai imunostimulan bagi manusia dan hewan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektifitas jintan hitam sebagai imunostimulan pada kerapu tikus (Cromileptes altivelis) melawan infeksi VNN melalui pengamatan parameter-parameter hematologi. Sebanyak 40 ekor kerapu tikus (± 9 cm) dikelompokkan kedalam empat perlakuan berdasarkan konsentrasi jintan hitam yaitu‚ 0%, 2,5%, 5%, and 7,5% kg-1 pakan. Ikan dipelihara di dalam bak (45x30x35 cm3) dengan pemberian aerasi secara terus menerus dan pemberian pakan komersial dua kali sehari secara ad libitum. Beberapa parameter hematologi (total leukosit‚ diferensial leukosit‚ persentase hematokrit dan aktivitas fagositosis) diamati tiap pengambilan sampel darah setiap minggu selama 21 hari. Uji tantang dilakukan pada hari ke-38 dengan menginfeksi filtrat VNN (0‚1 ml/ekor) secara intraperitonial. Survival Rate (SR)‚ Relative Percent Survival (RPS) dan Mean Time to Death (MTD) ikan uji diamati pada hari ke-5 setelah uji tantang.Analisis deskriptif menunjukkan pada perlakuan pemberian jintan hitam 7‚5% kg-1 pakan terjadi peningkatan total leukosit‚ persentase monosit dan limfosit hingga hari ke-21 dengan nilai RPS setelah infeksi VNN yaitu 100%. Dari hasil pengamatan dapat disimpulkan bahwa jintan hitam berperan sebagai imunostimulan yang mampu melindungi kerapu tikus melawan infeksi VNN. Kata kunci : jintan hitam‚ kerapu tikus‚ VNN‚ imunostimulan dan parameter hematologi inggris Black cumin (Nigella sativa) has been known to be useful as an immunostimulant for humans and animals. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of black cumin as an immunostimulant in humpback grouper (Cromileptes altivelis) against VNN infection through observation of hematological parameters. Humpback grouper (± 9 cm) grouped into four treatments based on the concentration of black cumin ,that is 0%, 2.5%, 5%, and 7.5% kg-1 feed. The fish were kept in the tanks (45x30x35 cm3) with continuous aeration and feed with commercial feed twice daily ad libitum. Some hematological parameters (total leukocytes, differential leukocyte, hematocrit percentage and phagocytic activity) was observed each blood sampling every week for 21 days. Challenge test performed on day 38th with infect VNN filtrate (0.1 ml / fish) are intraperitonial. Survival Rate (SR), the Relative Percent Survival (RPS) and Mean Time to Death (MTD) test fish were observed on day 5th after challenge test. Descriptive analysis showed the treatment administration of 7.5% black cumin kg-1 feed an increasing the total leukocytes, monocytes and lymphocytes percentage until day 21st and after VNN infection with RPS values is 100%. From the observations it can be concluded that black cumin act as an immunostimulant that can protect humpback grouper against infection VNN.
