N2  - Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menjelaskan strategi bertahan
hidup perempuan pemulung. Penelitian ini dilakukan di TPA Bakung, Kelurahan
Bakung, Kecamatan Telukbetung Barat, Bandar Lampung. Tipe penelitian ini
ialah deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Informan dalam penelitian ini
berjumlah empat orang perempuan pemulung kepala keluarga. Teknik
pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik wawancara.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diketahui bahwa strategi bertahan hidup yang
digunakan oleh empat perempuan pemulung dalam menghadapi kesulitan
memenuhi kebutuhan keluarga adalah dengan menggunakan strategi ekonomi dan
strategi sosial. Strategi ekonomi ialah dengan cara melakukan penghematan
pengeluaran dan melibatkan anggota keluarga untuk memaksimalkan usaha dan
bekerja sama mencari sumber nafkah tambahan demi terpenuhinya kebutuhan
keluarga. Sedangkan strategi sosial ialah berhutang atau meminjam uang dan
mengikuti organisasi produktif (seperti arisan) yang ada di sekitar tempat tinggal.

abstract

This study aims to identify and explain the survival strategies of women
scavengers. This research was conducted at the landfill Bakung, Bakung Village,
District Telukbetung West, Bandar Lampung. This type of research is descriptive
with qualitative approach. Informants in this study were four women scavengers
head of the family. Data collection techniques in this research using interview
techniques. Based on this research, it is known that the survival strategies used by
four women scavengers in the face of difficulty meeting the needs of the family is
using a strategy of economic and social strategies. Economic strategy is a way to
save expenditure and involve family members in order to maximize efforts and
work together to find a source of additional income for the sake of fulfilling the
needs of the family. While social strategy is debt or borrow money and follow the
productive organizations (such as social gathering) that exist around the residence.
