Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 21 bank umum konvensional dan bank 8 bank umum syariah. Pendekatan risk-based bank rating terdiri atas risk profile, good corporate governance, earnings, dan capital. Risiko kredit diukur dengan NPL/NPF, risiko likuiditas diukur dengan LR, dan risiko pasar diukur dengan IRR. Good corporate governance diukur dengan nilai komposit self assessment GCG, Earnings diukur dengan ROA dan REO, dan capital diukur dengan CAR. Pengujian Hipotesis dengan menggunakan Independent sample t-Test dan uji Mann-withney. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kesehatan bank umum konvensional lebih baik dibandingkan dengan bank syariah berdasarkan proksi NPL/NPF dan CAR. Sedangkan bank umum syariah lebih baik dibandingkan bank umum konvensional berdasarkan proksi IRR dan GCG. Namun, berdasarkan proksi LR, ROA dan REO tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada tingkat kesehatan bank umum konvensional dan bank umum syariah. COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF THE HEALTH LEVEL OF CONVENTIONAL AND ISLAMIC BANKS IN INDONESIA BASED ON RISK-BASED BANK RATING This study aims to compare the health level of conventional and islamic banks in Indonesia 2011-2014 using risk-based bank rating approach. The sample used in this study is 21 conventional banks and 8 islamic banks. Risk-based bank rating approach consists of risk profile, good corporate governance, earnings, and capital. Credit risk is measured by NPL/NPF, liquidity risk is measured by LR, and marrket risk is measured by IRR. GCG is measured by composite score of self assessment GCG., earnings is measured by ROA and REO, and capital is measured by CAR. Hypothesis test using Independent sample t-test and Mann-whitney test. Results from this study show that conventional banks are better than the Islamic bank based NPL / NPF and CAR. While Islamic banks are better than conventional bank based proxy IRR and GCG. However, based on the proxy LR, ROA and REO, show that no significant differences between conventional and islamic banks.
