description: Televisi merupakan media massa elektronik yang paling banyak dinikmati oleh masyarakat, karena media televisi dianggap media yang paling efektif dalam menyampaikan informasi. Sesuai dengan perkembangan teknologi yang kian maju, banyak stasiun-stasiun televisi swasta yang menyajikan berbagai macam konten acara, baik yang menyajikan konten pendidikan maupun yang menyajikan hiburan semata. Sinetron Tukang Bubur Naik Haji The Series merupakan salah satu bentuk program acara yang berisi hiburan dan pendidikan yang ditayangkan pada stasiun televisi RCTI. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik dan respon audiens dalam meyaksikan tayangan sinetron Tukang Bubur Naik Haji The Series. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori perbedaan individu. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) individu yang mempunyai karakteristik yang berbeda dengan individu lainnya ternyata menyukai dan menonton tayangan sinetron Tukang Bubur Naik Haji The Series, (2) respon atau tanggapan setiap individu pun beragam dalam menonton tayangan sinetron Tukang Bubur Naik Haji The Series, sesuai dengan karakteristik mereka masing-masing.  Kata kunci: Karakteristik, Respon, Tukang Bubur Naik Haji The Series.    Characteristics And Response Of Tukang Bubur Naik Haji The Series Audience (a Study in Bataranila Resident, Hajimena Village, Natar, South Lampung District)    Television is the most popular electronic mass media, enjoyed by the people, because it is considered as the most effective media to give information. Along with the rapid technology improvement, now there are many private television stations that present various programme, both from the education side and from the entertainment side. Soap opera of Tukang Bubur Naik Haji The Series is one form of event programme, contained with entertainment and education, presented in RCTI private television. This study is aimed to identify characteristics and responses of audience in watching Tukang Bubur Naik Haji The Series. The method used in this study is descriptive-qualitative. Theory used in this study is the theory of individual difference. The result of this research showed that: (1) individuals who have different characteristic with other individual in fact also like and watch the show of Tukang Bubur Naik Haji The Series (2) responses of every individuals are vary in watching Tukang Bubur Naik Haji The Series, based on their own characteristics.
