description: Security Security systems using surveillance cameras or CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) became one of the security system that is much in demand by the public. CCTV provide an easier way to monitor the condition of a room or a specific area in order to reduce and prevent crime. CCTV security surveillance systems simplest consists of a video camera, a monitor, and recorder (Herman,2007). Security surveillance systems room in this study is an alternative to  security system using a router-based OpenWrt as a replacement for a PC and a USB webcam as a substitute for CCTV cameras. The use of routers can save costs and savings power consumption as a replacement for PCs in security surveillance systems. The system is equipped with a motion detection feature and real time notification via SMS when motion is detected an object.      Keywords: CCTV, motion detection, OpenWrt,router, Security systems.
