Kesimpulan: Terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara skor SDLR terhadap pendekatan belajar mahasiswa tahun pertama di Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Lampung Kata kunci: Self-directed learning, pendekatan belajar, student-centred, problem based learning ABSTRACT Background: The appropriate learning can fulfill the learning needs of a medical students in achieving the expected competencies. Medical education methods based on the problem aims to trigger a learning process independently. This study wanted to find out the relationship between the scores of self-directed learning readiness and learning approaches among first-year student in Medical Faculty of Lampung University. Methods: This study is a cross-sectional study with a sample of 226 first class of medical students. Data were collected using a questionnaire SDLRS (Self-Directed Learning Readiness Scale) and R-SPQ-2F (Two Factors Revised Study Process Questionnaire). Data were analyzed using Fisher's exact test. Results: There were 169 (74.8%) people had high SDLR, 57 (25.2%) people had moderate SDLR, and no respondents had a low SDLR. Respondents with a deep learning approach were 220 (97.3%) people and 6 (2.7%) people have a surface learning approach. The Data was statistically tested using Fisher Test and p value is 0.004 (<0.05). Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between the scores of SDLR and approach learning among first-year student at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Lampung Keywords: Self-directed learning, learning approach, student-centred, problem based learning
