description: Komunikasi antar pribadi adalah proses komunikasi yang dianggap paling efektif  untuk menerapkan suatu pendekatan dalam rangka mencapai tujuan yang  diharapkan. Salah satunya adalah komunikasi antar pribadi antara orang tua anak  penderita autis dengan terapis anak di sekolah yang dilakukan untuk  menghasilkan efek yang baik terhadap perkembangan terapi anak. Tujuan dari  penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimanakah komunikasi antar pribadi  yang dilakukan oleh orang tua anak penderita autis dengan terapis dalam masa  terapi anak, serta mengetahui efek dari komunikasi tersebut terhadap  perkembangan anak. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori  Joseph DeVito, dengan pendekatan aspek humanistik yaitu keterbukaan, empati,  sikap mendukung, sikap positif, dan kesetaraan. Penelitian ini menggunakan tipe  penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara  mendalam dengan para informan dan observasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan  bahwa komunikasi antar pribadi yang diterapkan oleh orang tua dengan terapis  terbukti berperan dalam perkembangan terapi anak. Dari kelima aspek tersebut,  semuanya berhasil diterapkan oleh orang tua dan terapis. Namun, intensitas  dilakukannya komunikasi tersebut juga dapat menjadi salah satu faktor penentu  dalam perkembangan terapi anak.  Kata kunci: Komunikasi antarpribadi, pendekatan humanistik, orang tua, terapis,  autis, perkembangan terapi.    ABSTRACT    Interpersonal communication is the process of communication that is considered  the most effective way to implement an approach to achieve the expected goals.  One of them is the interpersonal communication between parents of children with  autism and the therapist in school, made to produce a good effect on the  development of child therapy. The purpose of this research was to find out how  interpersonal communication performed by parents of children with autism and  the therapist during the treatment of children, and to know the effect of the  communication on the development of children. A study used theory of humanistic  approach by Joseph DeVito; openness, empathy, supportiveness, positiveness, and  equality. This research used qualitative method the data were collected through  in-depth interviews with informants and observations. The results of this research  indicate that interpersonal communication which being implemented by parents  with the therapist proved instrumental in the development of child therapy. From  the five aspects of humanistic approach, all of them are successfully implemented  by parents and therapists. However, the intensity of the communication does can  also be a determining factor in the development of child therapy.
