Sikap narsisme adalah sikap yang memiliki rasa percaya diri yang tinggi serta
mengagumi diri sendiri dan ingin menunjukkan dirinya kepada orang lain. Sikap
narsisme semakin berkembang dikarenakan banyaknya media sosial yang muncul.
Instagram adalah salah satu aplikasi media sosial untuk berbagi foto dan video
bahkan berisikan hal pribadi sekalipun.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana sikap narsisme dalam
aplikasi instagram serta untuk menganalisis tujuan sikap narsisme. Metode yang
digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah eksploratif kualitatif. Informan dalam penelitian
ini adalah siswa SMA Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung.
Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan sikap narsisme dalam aplikasi instagram yaitu
seringnya menampilkan foto diri, menampilkan citra yang baik, ingin orang lain
merasa iri dengan postingan dirinya, senang dengan banyaknya followers dan likes,
serta menghapus foto atau video yang memiliki like dan viewers sedikit. Selain itu
tujuan sikap narsisme yang ingin dicapai ialah ingin mendapatkan perhatian orang
lain, ingin dikenal dan dilihat eksistensinya, menunjukkan superioritas, serta ingin
mendapat pujian dari orang lain.

ABSTRACT

Narcissism attitude is an attitude that has a high confidence in theirself way to
much and wants to showing theirself off to other person. A narcissism attitude more
and more develop because a lot of social media appear. Instagram is one of social
media application to share photos, video, and even a personal things.
This research is head for analyze how narcissism attitude in the instagram
application also to analyze the purpose of narcissism attitude. Method that used in this
research is explorative qualitative. Informant in this research is the students of SMA
Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung.
The results of this research conclude that narcissism attitude on instagram
application is oftentimes posting selfies, show to the public a good image, want to make
other person jealous of their post, happy because got a lot of followers and likes as
well, and delete pictures or videos that have a few likers and viewers. Besides, the
purpose of narcissism attitude are want to get public attention, being famous, people
consider their existence, show their superiority, and also want to get compliment from
other people.
