This research was a quantitative-qualitative research design. The subjects of this research were 15 students of the fifth grade of SDN 3 Mulya Asri. The instruments of this research were vocabulary tests and the observation sheets. The data were analyzed by using Paired Sample t-test. The result showed that there was a statistically significant difference of students’ vocabulary achievement after the implementation of TPR principles, with p=0.00<0.05. This suggests that TPR principles lead the students to understand vocabulary easily. Keywords. vocabulary, Total Physical Response method, teaching vocabulary
