        abstract = {Distribusi peluang merupakan himpunan hasil-hasil yang mungkin terjadi dari
sebuah percobaan. Suatu distribusi memiliki beberapa parameter yang
menyatakan karakteristik dari suatu populasi. Parameter tidak dapat diukur secara
langsung melainkan dengan cara mengambil sampel kemudian mengukurnya.
Pada penelitian ini, akan dikaji pendugaan parameter dengan metode momen,
Maximum Likelihood Estimation, dan Probability Weighted Moment dari
distribusi Generalized Beta 2. Pendugaan parameter dari ketiga metode dengan
melakukan simulasi data untuk membuktikan sifat ketakbiasan dan varian
minimum. Dari ketiga hasil simulasi terhadap ketiga metode pendugaan
menunjukkan bahwa metode Maximum Likelihood Estimation lebih baik
dibandingkan dengan metode momen dan Probability Weighted Moment.

abstract

The opportunity distribution is all possible outcomes of an experiment. A
distribution has several parameters that express the characteristics of a population.
Parameters can not be measured directly but by taking samples and then
measuring them. In this research, estimation using moment method, Maximum
Likelihood Estimation, and Probability Weighted Moment are used to determine
the parameter estimate of the Generalized Beta 2 distribution. The estimation of
parameter from three methods using data simulation for prof unbiased and
variance minimum. Data simulation result show that the Maximum Likelihood
Estimation method is better than the moment and Probability Weighted Moment
method in estimating the distribution parameters of Generalized Beta 2.
