Silika yang dihasilkan dikarakterisasi dengan menggunakan Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM/EDS) untuk mengetahui morfologi permukaan, Particel Size Analizer (PSA) untuk mengetahui distribusi ukuran partikel, dan Fourier Transform Infra Red (FTIR) untuk mengidentifikasi gugus fungsional. Uji adsorpsi yang dilakukan meliputi penentuan massa optimum adsorben, waktu kontak optimum, pH optimum, penentuan konsentrasi awal, kinetika adsorpsi, dan isoterm adsorpsi phenantren. Hasil massa optimum adsorben diperoleh pada berat 3 mg, waktu kontak optimum diperoleh pada waktu 120 menit, pH optimum diperoleh pada pH 3, dan konsentrasi awal phenantren diperoleh pada 15 mg L-1. Data kinetika adsorpsi phenantren pada silika mengikuti model kinetika pseudo orde dua dengan koefesien korelasi (r2) sebesar 0,9997. Isoterm adsorpsi phenantren pada silika mengikuti model isoterm Freundlich dengan koefisien korelasi (r2) 0,975 yang termasuk dalam jenis adsorpsi secara fisika. Kata kunci : sekam padi, silika, adsorpsi, Polisiklik Aromatik Hidrokarbon (PAH), phenantren. ABSTRACT The production of silica using rice husk as the main material in this research has been done. The silica that produced was characterized using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM/EDS) to determine the surface morphology, Particel Size Analizer (PSA) to determine the distribution of particle size, and Fourier Transform Infra Red (FTIR) to indentify the functional group. The adsorption test was conducted for determination of optimum mass of adsorbent, the time of optimum contact, the optimum pH, the determination of initial concentration, the adsorption kinetics, and the adsorption isotherm of phenantherene. The result of mass of adsorbent optimum was obtained on 3 mg, the time of optimum contact was obtained on 120 minutes, the optimum pH was obtained on pH 3, and the initial concentration phenantrene was obtained on 15 mg L-1. The adsorption kinetics data of phenanthrene on silica matchs with the model of pseudo second order with the correlation coefficient (r2) is 0,9997. The adsorption isotherm of phenanthrene on silica follows the Freundlich isotherms with the correlation coefficient (r2) is 0,975 suggesting the type of the physical adsorption.
