description: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respon masyarakat terhadap perkembangan tempat wisata Hutan Kota Bukit Pangonan di Kelurahan Pajaresuk Kecamatan Pringsewu Kabupaten Pringsewu. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif tipe eksplanatori dengan jumlah populasi sebesar 1862 Kepala Keluarga (KK) dan mengambil sampel sebanyak 95 orang yang tersebar di 4 lingkungan.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh positif antara respon masyarakat terhadap perkembangan tempat wisata dengan nilai persamaan regresi linear sederhana sebesar Y = 1,851 + 0,426X. Hasil perhitungan koefisien determinasi (R2) diperoleh nilai sebesar 0,693 yang menunjukkan besarnya respon masyarakat terhadap perkembangan tempat wisata yaitu 69,3 % dengan nilai koefisien korelasi (r) sebesar 0,440 yang berkategori sedang. Artinya masih terdapat faktor-faktor lain yang dapat mempengaruhi perkembangan tempat wisata. Sehingga harapan bagi peneliti selanjutnya yaitu dapat melakukan penelitian sejenis dengan menggunakan variabel atau indikator yang lain sehingga perkembangan tempat wisata Hutan Kota Bukit Pangonan dapat menjadi lebih baik.    Kata kunci: respon, masyarakat, parwisata       ABSTRACT       This study aims to determine society responses to the development of Forest City Tourist Area Bukit Pangonan in Pajaresuk Village,Pringsewu District,Pringsewu Region. This research employs quantitative explanatory type method with total population of 1862 Head of Family (KK) and sampling of 95 people spread in 4 domains.  The result of the research shows that there is a positive influence between the society responses toward the development of the tourist area with simple linear regression equation Y = 1,851 + 0,426X. The calculating result of coeficient determination(R2) reaches amount of 0,693 which shows the amount of the society responses toward the development of tourist area that is 69,3% with coeficientcorelation result (r) is0,440 which is categorizedas average. It means that there are other factors that can affect the development of tourist area. Thus, the researcher hopesfor the next researchers tobe able to conduct similar research by using variables or other indicators so that the development of Forest City Tourist Area Bukit Pangonan becomes better.
