description: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat perbedaan hasil belajar kognitif geografi siswa yang menggunakan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Point Make A Match. dengan menggunakan pembelajaran kognitif tipe Point Counter Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen. Populasi penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI IPS SMAN 1 Talangpadang. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan random sampling sehingga didapati kelas X1 IPS 4 dan Kelas XI IPS 1. Siswa kelas XI IPS 4 sebagai kelas eksperimen satu diberi perlakuan tipe Make A Match dan kelas XI IPS 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dua diberi perlakuan tipe Point Counter Point dalam proses pembelajaran. Analisis data digunakan dengan menggunakan uji T.  Tidak terdapat perbedaan rata- rata hasil belajar kemampuan awal peserta didik kelas XI IPS SMAN 1 Talangpadang Kabupaten Tanggamus tahun ajaran 2017/2018. Terdapat perbedaan signifikan rata- rata hasil belajar menggunakan model pembelajaran koopratif tipe tipe Make A Match dan Point Counter Point terhadap peserta didik kelas XI SMAN 1 Talangpadang Kabupaten Tanggamus tahun ajaran 2017/2018. Rata- rata hasil belajar menggunkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Make A Match lebih tinggi dibandingkan rata- rata hasil belajar menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Point Counter Point.  kata kunci: hasil belajar kognitif, point counter point, make a match  GEOGRAPHY LEARNING RESULT WITH COOPERATIVE LEARNING MODEL MAKE A MATCH TYPE AND COGNITIVE LEARNING MODEL POINT COUNTER POINT TYPE CLASS OF XI IPS SMAN 1 TALANGPADANG DISTRICT TANGGAMUS ACADEMIC YEAR 2017/2018    This research was purposed to see the differences in student cognitive learning result of geography using cooperative learning model Make A Match Type by using cognitive learning model Point Counter Point Type. This research type is experiment. The research population were the students of Class XI IPS SMAN 1 Talangpadang. Sampling was done by random sampling so that it was found class of XI IPS 4 and XI IPS 1. Students of class XI IPS 4 as the first experimental class treated with Make A Match Type and Class of XI IPS 1 as the second experimental class treated with Point Counter Point Type in the learning process. Data analysis using t test.  There is no difference in average learning outcomes early ability of students grade XI IPS SMAN 1 Talangpadang Tanggamus Regency academic year 2017/2018.There is a significant average difference in the learning result using cooperative learning model Make A Match and Point Counter Point type towards students grade XI SMAN 1 Talangpadang District Tanggamus academic year 2017/2018. The average learning result using cooperative learning model Make A Match type was higher than the average learning result using cooperative learning model Point Counter Point type.
