Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis  penelitian fenomenologi. Sumber data yang dijadikan sumber informasi adalah  ketua Komite Sekolah, Kepala Sekolah, dan Wakil Kepala Sekolah. Teknik  pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan wawancara, observasi dan  dokumentasi. Proses analisis data dimulai dari menelaah seluruh data hasil  wawancara dan studi dokumentasi, dilanjutkan dengan mengadakan reduksi data,  menyajikan data ke dalam tabel dan verifikasi data untuk mengambil kesimpulan.  Teknik keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian  tentang peran komite sekolah dalam peningkatan mutu pengelolaan pendidikan di  Sekolah Dasar Muhammadiyah Metro Pusat meliputi: (1) sebagai pemberi  pertimbangan dalam menentukan kebijakan dan program sekolah, Rencana  Anggaran Kerja Sekolah, kinerja dan fasilitas sekolah, (2) sebagai menggalang  dana dan sumber daya pendidikan dari masyarkat, (3) sebagai pengawas  pelayanan pendidikan di sekolah, (4) sebagai menindaklanjuti keluhan, saran,  kritik, dan aspirasi dari masyarakat.  Kata Kunci: komite sekolah, mutu pengelolaan pendidikan    ABSTRACT    This study aims to describe the role of school committees in improving the quality  of education management of Elementary schools of Muhammadiyah Metro  Center. This research uses qualitative approach with type of phenomenology  research. Sources of data used as sources of information are the head of the  School Committee, Principal, and Deputy Head of School. Data collection  techniques in this study using interviews, observation and documentation. The  process of data analysis starts from reviewing all data of interview result and  documentation study, followed by conducting data reduction, presenting data into  table and verification data to take conclusion. The data validity technique uses  triangulation. Based on the results of research on the role of school committees in  improving the quality of education management of Elementary Schools of  Muhammadiyah Metro Central includes: (1) as a consideration in determining  school policies and programs, School Budget Plans, school performance and  facilities, (2) as fundraising and educational resources of the community, (3) as  supervisor of educational services in schools, (4) as follow up on complaints,  suggestions, criticisms and aspirations from the community.
