abstract: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis 1) peranan PPL, 2) tingkat penerapan
panca usahatani padi sawah, 3) tingkat produktivitas padi sawah, 4) hubungan
antara peranan PPL dengan penerapan panca usahatani padi sawah, dan 5)
hubungan antara penerapan panca usahatani padi sawah dengan produktivitas padi
sawah. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Kecamatan Metro Barat Kota Metro. Sampel
dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 72 petani responden yang dipilih secara acak.
Metode analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif kuantitatif, tabulasi, dan
korelasi Rank Spearman. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa 1) PPL telah
melakukan peranannya dengan baik, terutama sebagai edukator yang bertugas
mengajarkan dan memberi pendidikan kepada petani mengenai penerapan panca
usahatani padi sawah, 2) tingkat penerapan panca usahatani padi sawah telah
diterapkan dengan baik. Hal ini dikarenakan, sebagian besar petani menyadari
pentingnya melakukan penerapan panca usahatani padi sawah sesuai dengan
anjuran dari PPL untuk meningkatkan produktivitas, 3) rata-rata produktivitas
padi sawah berada pada klasifikasi sedang yaitu sebesar 6,46 Ton/ha, 4) semakin
tinggi peranan PPL maka semakin tinggi tingkat penerapan panca usahatani padi
sawah, 5) semakin tinggi penerapan panca usahatani padi sawah maka semakin
tinggi tingkat produktivitas padi sawah.

abstract

The purposes of this study are to analyze 1) the roles of AEWs, 2) the level of
implementation of the five-farming-system of paddy, 3) the level ofpaddy
productivity, 4) the relationship between the roles and the level of the
implementation , and 5) the relationship between the implementation and paddy
productivity. The research was conducted in the West Metro District of Metro
City. The samples are 72 farmers of randomly selected respondents. Methods of
data analysis are quantitative descriptive analysis, table analysis, and Rank
Spearman correlation. The results indicated that 1) AEWshave done their roles
well, especially as educators who teach and educate farmers about the
implementation of the five-farming-system of paddy, 2) the five-farming-system
of paddy has been applied well. Most farmers realize the importance of
implementing the five-farming-system of paddy in accordance with the advice of
AEWs to improve productivity, 3) the average productivity of paddy is in the
medium class of 6.46 ton / ha, 4) the higher the role of AEWs, the higher the level
of application of thefive-farming-system of paddy, 5) the higher the
implementation of the five-farming-system of paddy, the higher the level of paddy
productivity.
