"Writing, in particular, plays a vital role in this modern era. It is one of productive\r\nskills students need to master. It is because writing skill has significances in\r\nimproving a communicative competence of learning a language. However, the\r\nstudents’ capability in composing a good product of writing regarding to the facts\r\nof students’ achievement have been being low. This is truly because one of which\r\nfactors, that is the technique of teaching writing which does not facilitate the\r\nstudents properly to cover all aspects of writing. As one of the techniques can be\r\nused to teach the students to cover all aspects of writing, think-talk-write technique\r\nis believed to help the students in improving the students’ writing ability.\r\nThis research was a quantitative research. The aim of this research was to find out\r\nthe improvement of students’ descriptive writing ability after being taught by\r\nthink-talk-write technique and the significant improvement of every single aspect.\r\nThe research was conducted at the first grade of SMA Al Azhar 3 Bandar\r\nLampung. Class X IPA 6 consisting of 34 students was chosen as the sample of\r\nthis research. Pretest and posttest design were used in this research. Writing test\r\nwas used as the instrument in pretest and posttest. The instrument was given to\r\nfind out how far the students’ writing ability before and after a series of treatment.The results of this research showed that the t-value (19.648) was higher than ttable\r\n(2.032) and the value of two tail significance was 0.000 < 0.05. It means that\r\nthere is statistically significant increase on students’ descriptive writing ability\r\nafter the implementation of think-talk-write technique. Therefore, the hypothesis\r\nof the research was accepted. The mean score of pretest was 54.83 and the mean\r\nscore of posttest was 64.95. It means that the students’ mean score was improved\r\n10.12. Besides, all aspects of writing were improved regarding to the results.
