N2  - Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh struktur dewan direksi
terhadap struktur modal. Penggunaan struktur modal yang optimal dapat
menaikkan nilai perusahaan, sehingga kepentingan pemegang saham dapat
tercapai. Dewan direksi dengan tata kelola perusahaan yang baik dapat
mengarahkan dan mengendalikan suatu perusahaan agar operasional perusahaan
berjalan sesuai dengan harapan pemegang saham. Struktur dewan direksi yang
digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah board size, director independence, dan
board tenure. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan meggunakan data perusahaan
tambang batu bara yang terdapat di Burse Efek Indonesia (BEI) tahun 2012-2016.
Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan purposive sampling, data yang masuk
dalam kriteria sejumlah 10 data. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan dengan
menggunakan analisis regresi berganda. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa
board size dan director independence tidak memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan
terhadap keputusan penggunaan struktur modal, sedangkan board tenure memiliki
pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap keputusan penggunaan struktur modal tetapi
tidak mendukung hipotesis dalam penelitian ini.

ABSTRACT

This research aims to analyze the influence of the structure of the Board of
Directors of the capital structure. The use of an optimal capital structure can
increase the value of the company, so that the interests of the shareholders can be
achieved. Structure of the board of director with good corporate governance can
direct and control of a company so that the company's operations run in
accordance with the expectations of shareholders. Structure of the board that is
used in this research is the board size, director independence, and board tenure.
This research was conducted with data with coal mining company in Indonesia
Effect Burse (BEI) in 2012-2016.
Sampling was done by purposive sampling, the data included in the criteria for a
number of 10 data. Hypothesis testing is done by using multiple regression
analysis. The results of this study show that board size and independence director
does not have a significant impact on the use of capital structure decisions, while
the board tenure have significant influence on the decision to use capital structure
but does not support this hypothesis.
